Introduction to me

My name is Briana A. Bobo. I am from Chesterfield, MO which is a suburb of St. Louis. My major is Journalism and I just tagged on a double major, so it now also includes African American studies.  I have spent much of my collegiate career trying to distance myself from my upbringing in white suburbia because for some reason I've had identity issues because of that, hence my interest in African American Studies.

As for interesting facts: I hate my last name, like I mean really I hate it and I await the day when I can marry someone with a more pleasant last name. An entire lifetime of being teased sucks. My name is pronounced Bree-ohn-aa, and people always butcher it for some reason so I usually go by Bri. I have aspirations to visit every continent before I die, So far, I've been to Africa and Europe. I have severe OCD. I have three tattoos, much to my parents dismay (my dad is a Baptist preacher, so I hope you can make the connection). I hope to work for an 'urban' magazine someday, preferably writing about eco-friendly ways to manage urban and inner-city developments, I had an internship where I researched ways to do just that. That is why I am taking this class, I want to do that for a living.

I currently read and love Essence Magazine, Cosmopolitan (poorly written, but its a guilty pleasure of mine), and sometimes Glamour.

And, I hope to get off the waitlist!

Thats all.
